The Harry Potter franchise has had a bit of a mixed track record when it comes to video games. While the LEGO Harry Potter games are some of the best licensed LEGO games around, the movie tie-in games are a bit of a mixed bag, with some highlights like Chamber of Secrets and Quidditch World Cup, but then some real disappointments like The Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2. So, it's only natural that fans were pretty skeptical of the first fully-fledged Harry Potter open-world RPG, but against all odds, Hogwarts Legacy has managed to be one of 2023's biggest success stories.
