In 2021, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart was released exclusively on PlayStation 5 by Insomniac Games, in which players control Ratchet, a rather intelligent alien rodent of sorts, and Clank; his robotic sidekick. Through them, players hop between galaxies/planets and get into all types of intergalactic hijinx as they fight off a multitude of adversaries. It was by and large well-received and praised for its strong story beats spawning multiple dimensions, planets, and a plethora of differing aesthetics. And it's even pretty to look at - Rift Apart has very clean graphics as well as a cut-and-dry demonstration of just what the PlayStation 5 was capable of.
