If Hades 2 is looking to outpace its predecessor, then it could take some inspiration from another recent roguelike success, Cult of the Lamb. Both games involve a character wielding godlike power facing off against equally imposing forces, so there is already a connection between the two. However, Cult of the Lamb managed to blend a few more ideas that led to a unique experience. Hades 2 already has a lot of work to do in order to surpass the original. However, taking an unexpected direction of its own could be what ultimately puts it over the top.
