Rug is responding to some recent comments by his fellow YouTube gaming stars who didn't have glowing things to say about his appearance in a PSA.

FaZe Rug has made himself into one of the more popular YouTube content creators around. At last count, he'd amassed more than 18 million followers. Despite his popularity, he's someone who considers himself quite shy. In the recent video he did, he wanted to share what he felt was a very important message. That message is that even people that are shy, have an avenue to have success on platforms like Twitch and YouTube.

It appears that YouTube star  Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg wasn't a big fan of a recent video that fellow content producer FaZe Rug's appeared in. The video, which was also produced by YouTube sensation Dhar Mann was about a subject near and dear to Rug's heart.

Rug and PewDiePie have long had a less than positive history with one another. Of course Swedish content creator PewDiePie isn't one to back away from online controversy if he doesn't like something. While Rug believes there's some bad blood between the two, it might simply be an issue with the video's content and the message itself.

However, after PewDiePie and his fellow YouTuber CinnamonToastKen saw the video, they called it “extremely awkward.” they also said that it sold a rather unrealistic message to those who might want to get into content creation.

Rug, who is best known as being a member of the FaZe clan wasn't a fan of their words, a little confused and apparently a little hurt by the comments. Two days after PewDiePie's comments, Rug uploaded a video where he responded. In the now private video, he said he respected the criticism but felt it was important to get his own message across. That message was still one that he wanted to make sure encouraged kids who might feel like their lack of outward confidence would derail their careers.

Further, Rug said he thinks part of the reason PewDiePie went out of his way to criticize him, because the Swedish YouTube star "hates him." He went on to say that he's long had a feeling that the other content creator had something against him. In that video, he talked about an older post where PewDiePie called Rug a "mole-looking rat twig."  He didn't explain the context of the insult, which some believe was mostly said as a way to rib the FaZe clan member and YouTube personality. At the same time, Rug said that while he feels bad about what seems like a growing beef over the PSA, he believes everyone is entitled to their opinion about the subject.
