For the most part, the DCEU has been a mixed bag at best. DC Comics and their attempt at replicating Marvel's success with a shared live-action movie universe missed the mark with some disappointing entries both critically and financially. Thankfully, they are finding much better luck in the world of animation.

There are plenty of DC animated films available out there, most of which were met with better reviews than the live-action counterparts. Known as the DCAMU (DC Animated Movie Universe), these films cover Batman, Wonder Woman, the Suicide Squad, and more. The best of the bunch might be the ones involving the entire Justice League though.

6 Justice League: Throne Of Atlantis (6.7)

If a Justice League story has a title involving Atlantis, then it's a dead giveaway that Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Matt Lanter) will be at the center of the tale. That's certainly the case with Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, which was released in 2015. Loosely based on the New 52 comic book arc of the same name, it sees Aquaman uncover the truth about his heritage.

Along the way, Arthur's half-brother Orm/Ocean Master (Sam Witwer) attempts to take over Metropolis after blaming the Justice League for the death of his father. Ultimately, this film was praised for going a different route in centering a story on someone other than DC's signature Trinity but felt Aquaman's tale wasn't all that interesting. It also holds a 57% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

5 Justice League vs. Teen Titans (7.0)

On paper, this is certainly one of the most interesting and unique premises in the entire DCAMU. However, this isn't just a case of two superhero factions battling it out as there's a more sinister plot at hand. In 2016's Justice League vs. Teen Titans, the Justice League is possessed by the demon Trigon to do his evil bidding.

That puts the Teen Titans at odds with them as they try to stop the most powerful heroes who are acting like villains. At the center of the story is Damian Wayne/Robin (Stuart Allen), who gets sent by his father Bruce/Batman (Jason O'Mara) to join the Teen Titans after messing things up on a mission. It was considered to be an entertaining action flick. There aren't many reviews up but it has an 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

4 Justice League Dark (7.1)

It's always a blast to see the more famous DC Comics characters interact with those from different corners of the universe. That's part of the charm of 2017's Justice League Dark. In it, villains with supernatural powers (Abnegazar, Rath, and Ghast) partner up, causing the Justice League to team up with unique characters.

That premise allows characters like Batman and Wonder Woman (Rosario Dawson) to work with Justice League Dark members like John Constantine (Matt Ryan) and Zatanna Zatara (Camilla Luddington) to take them down. Unlike a lot of DCAMU entries, this is a totally original story. It has a 78% on Rotten Tomatoes and was praised for the fun collaboration of superheroes.

3 Justice League: War (7.3)

This 2014 movie was the second Justice League film released as part of the DCAMU. It's notable for adapting the Justice League: Origin story arc, which was the first in DC's relaunch of 2011. Due to that, the whole thing works as something of an origin story for the massive superhero team.

In it, an alien invasion threatens Earth, which forces the Justice League to form. The team consists of Superman (Alan Tudyk), Batman, Wonder Woman (Michelle Monaghan), Green Lantern (Justin Kirk), The Flash (Christopher Goram), Shazam (Sean Astin), and Cyborg (Shemar Moore). Despite the good IMDb rating, it only has a 50% on Rotten Tomatoes. Still, most reviews found it to feature quality action and humor.

2 Justice League Dark: Apokolips War (7.8)

Following the success of the aforementioned Justice League Dark movie of 2017, a return to that concept made sense. That would be 2020's Justice League Dark: Apokolips War. It took the idea of teaming up these characters to the next level. The Justice League and Justice League Dark heroes were joined by the Teen Titans and members of the Suicide Squad for the ultimate film.

That meant you had Superman (Jerry O'Connell), John Constantine, Raven (Taissa Farmiga), Harley Quinn (Hynden Walch), and more all in one place. They come together to battle Darkseid (Tony Todd) in one final climactic battle that actually acts as the ending of the entire DCAMU, with this being the final film released in it. Justice League Dark: Apokolips War holds an impressive 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and is viewed as a satisfying conclusion to a 15-film arc.

1 Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (8.1)

Sometimes, the best entry into a series is actually the first one. Judging by IMDb ratings, that seems to be the case when it comes to the DCAMU and the Justice League. Released in 2013, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox marked the beginning of the entire DCAMU continuity. Anyone who knows DC Comics fully understands the weight that the Flashpoint arc holds.

The plot centers on Barry Allen/The Flash, who wakes up to find that his world has dramatically changed. The timeline has been altered and he must team up with heroes from alternate timelines to try and restore his own. It was a rousing success in the DCAMU but when the CW's Arrowverse attempted it, the results were less favorable. Along with the 8.1 IMDb rating, it has a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Praise went to the style and how true it stayed to the source material.
