Outriders has proven to be a successful game, and the Trickster a very popular choice, but many players struggle to find the best mods to use.

Outriders has been out for over two weeks now, approaching week three since launch. This looter shooter is garnering thousands of players daily, and the player base is now quite vast. The game features four classes, or "paths," that define what the characters players are creating will do, and what their abilities are going to be. The choice is not an easy one, almost on par with which starter Pokemon to choose, so to speak.

In Outriders players will be elite soldiers from the Earth with the purpose of making sure the planet Enoch, a sort of second Earth, is a more hospitable planet than the one they left. Unsurprisingly, things take a turn for the worse merely minutes into the game because of a storm called the Anomaly. This is where players get their god-like abilities from, and this is the starting point of the players' journey into the game.

Among the classes available to play, Outriders players like the Trickster seemingly more than others. This was highlighted by the data from the free demo, and it still shows based on just how frequent it is to find fellow Tricksters in online lobbies. Much like all classes, the Trickster offers a few options in terms of builds, and most of these builds do require specific mods in order to truly shine.

A fun build that Outriders players have been successfully taking to Challenge Tier 15 Expeditions, both solo and in groups, is the Anomaly Power Trickster. This build revolves mainly around either Temporal Blade or Cyclone Slice. The former is a skill that hits enemies in a radius in front of the player, while the latter is a skill that lets gamers spin while slicing enemies.

One of the best legendary sets to have for this build is the Edge of Time, as unlocking the set bonus grants an increase in damage to both Temporal Blade and Cyclone Slice of 100 percent. Overall, the gear should have Anomaly Power, Skills Life Leech, and Cooldown Reduction as Attributes. As for the mods, this is a category-based and skill-based tier list, and some of them require legendary farming.

Best Weapon Mods:

  1. Moaning Winds: Reloading deals damage in a range of eight meters.
  2. Untamed Power: Deals damage equal to 30 percent of Anomaly Power to all enemies within six meters when using a skill.
  3. Scrap Grenade: Deals damage in a five meter radius when shooting the first bullet after reloading.
  4. Death Chains: Entangles an enemy with chains, dealing damage to them over three seconds.

Best Defensive Mods:

  1. Temporal Armor: Bonus 50 percent Armor per enemy hit with Temporal Blade, stacking up to eight times.
  2. Rebound: While Cyclone Slice is active, reflect 50 percent of incoming bullets back at the enemy.
  3. Emergency Stance: Attain Golem for four seconds when health drops below 30 percent.
  4. Grand Bastion: While using Cyclone Slice all weapon damage and Anomaly damage is reduced by 35 percent.
  5. Shield Blast: When Shield is depleted a blast is created to deal damage to enemies within five meters.

Best Temporal Blade Damage Mods:

  1. Double Slice: Enemies hit by Temporal Blade are sliced again for an additional 50 percent damage
  2. Cut Loose: Reduces Temporal Blade's cooldown by 20 percent
  3. Slasher: Temporal Blade can be used one more time before going on cooldown
  4. Strong Slice: Temporal Blade deals increased damage

Best Cyclone Slice Damage Mods:

  1. Ultimate Duration: The skill lasts 10 seconds longer
  2. Wind Slash: Increases the damage Cyclone Slice deals
  3. Duration: Cyclone Slice lasts five seconds longer
  4. Speed Up: Move 25 percent faster while using Cyclone Slice

This build focuses on mobility, increasing damage by a lot, and one-shotting pretty much everything in its path with shotguns. This is achieved by using two utility skills with low cooldowns, namely Ventor's Knife and Hunt the Prey. The former throws a knife at an enemy, which then ricochets between five enemies, and it applies a Slow and a mark debuff (with the mark being consumed when the enemy is hit by damage, doubling that damage). Hunt the Prey is a Movement skill that teleports the players behind a target, while also providing a shield.

The main focus of this build remains Twisted Rounds, though. This ability lets players deal an incredible amount of damage because of how using it augments the gamers' Firepower stat. The more Firepower a character has, the more damage it will deal with weapons and bullets. That's why it is crucial that the mods make Twisted Rounds last ad libitum, with no real downside. An alternative way to achieve this would be to use Borrowed Time in place of Hunt the Prey, combined with the Chronosuit legendary set to replenish the magazine.

Best Weapon Mods:

  1. Embalmer's Rage: After killing an enemy, all subsequent shots are critical strikes for a few seconds
  2. Killing Spree: Killing enemies with the weapon with Killing Spree stacks a 25 percent increase in damage up to three times
  3. Fortress: 43 percent damage bonus based on the character's Armor

Best Offensive Mods:

  1. Sharp Eye: Killing enemies while aiming down sights increases Firepower for 20 seconds, stacking up to three times
  2. Stare Into The Barrel: Increases Firepower for each enemy in Close Range, stacking up to five times
  3. Bloodlust: Killing shots increase the character's Firepower, stacking up to three times and deteriorating over time
  4. Captain Hunter: Increases all damage dealt to Elite enemies by 25 percent
  5. Personal Space: Increases all damage dealt to enemies in Close Range by 15 percent
  6. Buckshot Shells: Increases damage dealt with Shotguns by 10 percent

Best Defensive Mods:

  1. Emergency Stance: Obtain the effects of Golem for four seconds when health drops below 30 percent
  2. Life Drain: While Twisted Rounds is active, killing shots heal the players by 15 percent of the target's health
  3. Death Shell: Killing enemies while Borrowed Time is active reduces incoming Weapon Damage by 10 percent and Anomaly Damage by 10 percent for 10 seconds; the buff is removed at the end of the skill, and it stacks up to four times

Best Twisted Rounds Mods:

  1. Ammo Bargain: While Twisted Rounds is active, killing shots replenish 20 percent of ammo in the magazine
  2. Twisted Fate: Receive a 30 percent Critical Damage bonus while Twisted Rounds is active
  3. Strong Twist: While Twisted Rounds is active, increases the weapon’s Firepower by an additional 15 percent

Best Utility Mods:

  1. Instant Reload: Teleporting via Hunt the Prey immediately replenishes the magazine for the current weapon equipped
  2. Perpetuum Mobile: The magazine is instantly replenished when killing an enemy with 30 percent or less ammo remaining in the magazine
  3. Radiation Jump: Hunt the Prey inflicts Vulnerable (15 percent more damage received) on the enemy it is used against
  4. Weakening The Prey: Hunt the Prey now interrupts the enemy that is targeted with the skill, while also inflicting Weakness on them

Outriders is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and Stadia.
