Outriders players have a ton of freedom when experimenting with mods and builds, and one player has found an electrifying weapon mod combo.

Although Outriders may seem fairly simple from the get go, it won't take long for fans to realize just how complex the build customization in the game can get. With tons of mods to choose from that all synergize with each other in unique ways, players are given a ton of control over how their character fights. As always, there are a few builds that sit at the top of the meta, but really players are free to try whatever they want. YouTuber DPJ has now found another contender for an OP build, this time invoking images of the Norse God Thor wreathed in lightning.

The four classes in Outriders allow players to manipulate different aspects. The Technomancer has control over technology, the Pyromancer can conjure up flames, the Trickster manipulates time and space, and the Devastator governs the very earth beneath their feet. Many fans were disappointed to see that there is no lightning based class, but this mod combination should help to fill the gap.

The two mods in question are Ultimate Storm Whip and Strings of Gauss, both of which are Tier 3 mods. Since these mods are very powerful, they will require players to dismantle a Legendary weapon to get one or the other. In order to get the Strings of Gauss weapon, players will need to dismantle either the Disintegrator or the Bolts & Thunder legendary sidearm weapons. Likewise, the Ultimate Storm Whip ability is found on either The Daimyo submachine gun or the Thunderbird assault rifle.

Since legendary gear can only have one mod slot changed out, players will need to start with either The Daimyo or the Thunderbird weapons. After dismantling one of the legendary sidearms mentioned above, add the Strings of Gauss mod onto this weapon and head out to find some enemies. Both of these mods cause lightning bolts to strike enemies, but they work slightly differently. Ultimate Storm Whip deals heavy single target damage, but Strings of Gauss does lightning damage to nearby enemies as well. This allows players to focus on a boss while killing minions at the same time.

Naturally this mod combination requires a bit of investment, as players will need to have found two specific legendary weapons in order to make it work. Even so, once those mods are acquired, players will find themselves slinging electricity left and right to take down their foes with ease. See the video above for more details and gameplay examples.

Outriders is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
