There have been many additions made to Destiny 2 to keep fans engaged. With these new changes in Destiny 2, Bungie will implement a new armor synthesis and appearance features into the game, something fans have been asking about for a while. Ada-1, the gunsmith for and head of the Black Armory, will now be coming back to the game to help Guardians customize their appearance in the tower.
This process might be quite different from what most gamers use in other video games. The Armor Synthesis process in Destiny 2 will require a couple of steps, along with quests and item transactions, for gamers to work for their ideal appearance. Additionally, the current plan is to implement a cap of 10 Synthweave – which is required for transmog – per season, per character.

However, Bungie is planning to celebrate the introduction of Armor Synthesis by allowing players to earn 10 additional Synthweave pieces per class during Season of the [REDACTED]. Yet, with the sheer number of armor pieces in the game, many are frustrated that Bungie will incorporate a max capacity in the first place.
To convert a player's armor appearance, gamers need to defeat enemies and earn material called Synthstrand. From there, when gamers collect about 150 Synthstrand or more, they can bring the material to Ada-1 in the Tower to purchase class-specific bounties, which will reward them Synthcord upon completion. After that, players should head to the Loom to convert the Synthcord into Synthweave. Finally, fans can use that Synthweave to convert an armor piece into a Universal Armor Ornament.
There is still a lot more to fully grasp about the whole process. There are also multiple different categories of Armor Synthesis bounties, those being Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit, Destination, and completing the final encounter in Dungeons and Raids. Each has different requirements for completing, and if Guardians pick up the wrong bounty, they could risk abandoning some of the Synthstrands if they exit the quest. Although some will be retained by the player, they just won't get access to the full reward amount.
Another important thing to note is that the Universal Ornaments can only be applied to Legendary Armor pieces. Gamers are also not able to change the appearance of Exotic Armor in Destiny 2 so that other players will be able to understand which perks someone is using. Additionally, Bungie has changed the way Shaders work within the game. Soon, all unlocked shaders will appear on the Guardian Appearance screen. It still costs the same amount of Glimmer as the consumables, but this will make the organization of it more convenient for fans.
In a blog post on the Bungie company website, the development team states that the reasoning behind this process is to make sure that fans can earn Synthweave through multiple avenues. Through the attempt to make it accessible to everyone, Bungie may have accidentally made the process more convoluted than it should be. But, perhaps with time, gamers will get used to the system.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
