A dedicated Guitar Hero player is the first to complete a ridiculously difficult song that has long been thought to be impossible.

When Guitar Hero was a cultural phenomenon in the 2000s it was impressive for players to be able to play the game's hardest songs on Expert difficulty, much less play through them without missing a single note. Some passionate Guitar Hero players have been playing over all these years, however, and are achieving some truly incredible things.

Arguably one of the best of those players is streamer CarnyJared who has continued playing Guitar Hero despite no new entry being released in years. Lately, CarnyJared has been playing the 6th version of Soulless, a PC mod for Guitar Hero that adds a series of custom songs that are notoriously difficult and impossible for all but the most skilled players to complete.

The video of CarnyJared's playthrough of the song is pretty staggering. While the "song" is nowhere near the length of an actual song, the notes required come insanely fast and frantically. Watching CarnyJared manage the 100% completion is impressive even for anyone who has never touched one of the iconic Guitar Hero controllers. The notes come so incredibly fast that there are sections of the song requiring CarnyJared to use both hands to hit the buttons fast enough. Warning for the video, however, there is a lot of strong language after he completes the song.

Soulless 6 released 10 years ago, and, until now, was the only song in the series that had never been completed without ever missing a note. For anyone not familiar with Guitar Hero, what makes the feat even more impressive is that even playing an extra note would also have cost CarnyJared his full combo. That means that even the parts of the video that look like he is simply mashing buttons also have to be incredibly precise and well-timed. Many in the Guitar Hero community thought that pulling this off was simply impossible despite some of the amazing things Guitar Hero players have pulled off, and it is a monumental achievement for CarnyJared.

While the series may have been dormant in recent years, Guitar Hero is an undeniably influential piece of games history, and it is really cool to see the heights that its most dedicated community members can take it to. CarnyJared says that he has been grinding ever since last August to make this achievement happen, showing an incredible amount of dedication and passion. It is not clear what CarnyJared will move on to now that he has conquered the greatest challenge in Guitar Hero, but for now, his fingers have earned a much-deserved rest.
