Destruction AllStars provide a look at the new content coming to the game with Season 1, including a new AllStar and photo mode.

Destruction AllStars launched as a PlayStation exclusive for the PlayStation 5, and pits players against one another in chaotic hero-based destruction derby matches. Destruction Allstars also launched as part of PlayStation Plus, meaning most PlayStation 5 owners got the game for free, but that has not stopped the developers from continuing to work on the game.

In the middle of last month, Destruction Allstars unveiled its Year 1 Roadmap, which announced three seasons spread out over the year. Now, the developers have provided an update for their fans through a post on the game's subreddit that provides more details on what fans can expect in the near future.

Firstly, the post announces the incoming Photo Mode that will allow players to pause the game while playing in single-player and position the camera to get some great-looking screenshots of the mayhem. The post also acknowledges that players can expect Destruction AllStars' first new AllStar soon, but doesn't provide any details other than to say that they expect to share more sometime next week. The post also details a new Blitz game mode that will become the game's competitive game mode, although this announcement is also sparse on details. The mode will launch later into the season and will start off as a regular mode until it transitions to a competitive ranked mode after the developers see the initial reception of the mode amongst the community.

The post also provides some details about Season 1's AllStar Pass. The details here look familiar to most Battle Pass systems across the industry with a free tier of the pass as well as a premium offering players new cosmetics for a limited period of time. However, no information is provided as to the price of the premium tier of the pass or how many levels players can expect there to be. The post finishes by highlighting some of the balancing changes coming to the game with Season 1, including nerfs to the AllStars Bluefang and Ratu as well as voice chat returning to Destruction AllStars after players were unable to mute other players at launch.

It is good to see developer Lucid Games Limited sticking with Destruction AllStars after its launch left many underwhelmed. Unfortunately, however, this update does not give a lot of information for the fans who have stuck with the game and are invested in seeing its revival. While the upcoming Hot Shots season is exciting for the community, little in the announcement was not already known by players. Hopefully, when the season arrives in the near future it has enough to satisfy current players as well as to attract some old players to return to check the new content out.

Destruction AllStars is available now on PlayStation 5.
