Back in 2017, Minecraft's team created what would soon become tradition in the form of a yearly Mob Vote. Every year since, Mojang has given fans mobs (and once, even a biome) to choose to be added into the game. Fans would fight to the end of the line for their new Minecraft buddy, and at the end of the day only one group of people could be victorious. However, it was still something to look forward to.
