Whenever studios make sequels, one of the hardest things to do is to convince players that they should consider buying into it. Most of the time, it is as simple as the fact that the game will continue the story of the original with new mechanics. But games like Cities: Skylines 2 do not get that same luxury as they do not have any sort of story. Instead, it is up to gameplay to show fans why they should leave the previous entry behind, and so far, it does not seem to have done that well.
