Regional forms have existed in the Pokemon world since Gen 7's Pokemon Sun/Moon, and the numbers of these variants have increased with each new generation. Although it did not debut in Sword/Shield, Ursaluna was added in the Hisui region of Pokemon Legends: Arceus as a third evolution for Teddiursa and Ursaring. Another generation later, Ursaluna had gained a new form in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet called Bloodmoon Ursaluna.
