In nearly every Pokemon game since the Kanto region, players have been able to choose from a small list of Fossils to rejuvenate and transform back into living Pokemon. The originals were Omastar, Kabutops, and Aerodactyl, but since then, Game Freak has released 12 more, each based on ancient creatures (or living things in Cradilys case).
