Mortal Kombat 1 is officially in the middle of its second season. The game was released back in September to critical acclaim and has largely pleased fans of the franchise despite some controversial balancing decisions. Fighting games are in the middle of a boom right now. No small part of this is that Street Fighter and other franchises are starting to adopt the more comprehensive single-player options that Mortal Kombat has always delivered to fans. The second season of Mortal Kombat 1 will add to its roster of fighters and the game's extensive catalog of single-player content, most notably its Invasion Mode.
