In addition to introducing many new characters, Baldur's Gate 3 is filled with returning favorites from previous games. Allies Minsc and Jaheira join the adventure once more, Viconia and Sarevok are fought as enemies, and many others are referenced in dialogue and in-game text. But one party member from both previous games is noticeably missing: Edwin Odesseiron, an ambitious, egotistical, Red Wizard of Thay. However, some subtle hints and information from other Forgotten Realms materials indicate that Edwin may be hiding out in Baldur's Gate 3 after all.
