Assassin's Creed: Codename Red was announced at Ubisoft forward in 2022 alongside Codename Hexe, Codename Jade, and Assassin's Creed: Mirage. Since the announcement, very little has been confirmed in regard to Ubisoft's next highly-anticipated entry in the Assassin's Creed series. The only considerable information provided for Codename Red is that the game is set in a location long awaited by fans of the series: Feudal Japan. Codename Red's setting was revealed within a 30-second teaser trailer, which also teased fans with a Japanese-style rendition of the "Ezio's Family" melody from the Assassin's Creed 2 soundtrack.
