Insomniac's Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart releases this June, and a new PlayStation State of Play has been released to give players a look at what they can expect from the action platformer. While a lot of new information was revealed about the game, many fans were grabbed by what was shown for the new worlds in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart sees the characters sent to an entirely new dimension, meaning the locations players will go to throughout the game are anyone's guess. Another aspect of the game that has drawn a lot of attention is the new female Lombax, Rivet, featured in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.

Today's State of Play had plenty to show for both these aspects of the game. A large portion of the video is dedicated to a section that sees Rivet and Clank crash-landing on a lush alien planet. The section showcases Rivet's melee combat with her hammer, as well as some of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart's new weapons. The planet itself boasts a wide variety of different alien species that run among its thick foliage, trees, and rocky outcroppings.
However, the planet does not stay that way. Later in the level Rivet reaches a pocket dimension on the planet that is more swamp-like and covered with a strange purple goo, abandoned industrial equipment, large glowing blue crystals, and floating chunks of earth. Fans will need to have a sharp eye to find many of its details however, as much of the level zips past Rivet while she races over the planet on a fast, large bug. While Rivet's gameplay style seems largely similar to Ratchet's, the locations shown through her gameplay are very different from anything that has been shown for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart thus far.
The State of Play video has a lot to show that is likely exciting for fans eagerly waiting on Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart's launch this summer. With the game's plot centered around the characters visiting multiple different dimensions and planets, the game will undoubtedly feature a slew of fantastical locations. Hopefully, as fans wait, Insomniac Games will release more details on what sort of locations, weapons, and enemies players will come across in the game, as well as more details on Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart's Rivet.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will launch on June 11 for PlayStation 5.
