Memes hold much more sway in gaming culture than they honestly should. In the last few years, the gaming industry has seen a rise in the number of popular memes that actually end up making their way into the desired product. For instance, the Ultra Instinct Shaggy meme became wildly popular in the late 2010s, and when it came time to make a roster for the Warner Bros. crossover fighter MultiVersus, the devs decided to just put the meme directly in the game. This is far from the first time something like this has happened in the gaming space, and Fortnite's latest update proves it won't be the last.
