The surprise announcement of a brand-new game in the long-running Mana series adds yet another anticipated JRPG to a stacked year for the genre.

Next year is already shaping up to be just as packed of a release schedule as 2023, especially when it comes to the JRPG subgenre. Joining an already impressive list of games set to release in 2024 is the recently announced Visions of Mana, the first new game in the long-running Mana series (Seiken Densetsu in Japan) since 2014's Rise of Mana, and the first new original game in the series for consoles since 2007's Heroes of Mana. While no specific release date has been provided by Square Enix, it's slated for a 2024 launch alongside some of the most-anticipated JRPG sequels and new series, cementing 2024 as a banner year for the subgenre.
