As gaming and PC enthusiasts eagerly await for new stock to become available, reports suggest that MSI may be about to launch its GTX 3080 Ti.

No one could have anticipated just how dire things would be when it came to gaming and PC hardware availability. Companies like Nvidia, AMD, Sony, and Xbox, as well as the customers wanting to buy them, have been hit by global shortages and are left twiddling their thumbs until things even out again. With sources indicating that the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti may be coming out soon, all eyes are hopeful that tech will start to come into stock again. Now it looks as though additional reports are saying that this could potentially be a reality.

According to a photo uploaded to Videocardz, there is a chance that MSI, a well-known technology company specializing in graphics cards and laptops, could be about to launch its own iteration of the Nvidia 3080 Ti sometime this month. Called the SURPIM X, the photo clearly shows a 3080 Ti, or at least the box for it, with the report suggesting that this flagship piece of hardware could be about to hit the market. However, there is no official word from MSI or Nvidia about the product and while the photo could reveal something exciting, it's still only a speculation at this stage.

All this does is confirm what people have already been suspecting. But that doesn't mean the photo isn't proof of things to come. With talk recently that chip shortages could go on until 2023, it's entirely possible that short supplies of graphics cards and other hardware could be something people may have to get used to for a good while. Given that, it's understandable why some may be clinging onto any news they can get that suggests there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

While much of the GPU shortages can be attested to COVD-19, in which millions around the world were confined to their homes with perhaps more free time on their hand for gaming, many point the finger at cryptominers who have been buying up stock in bulk and leaving very little for others. In fact, companies like AMD and Nvidia have spoken about releasing newer graphics cards with limiters on them to make them basically useless for mining cryptocurrency.

As of now, the leak suggests that new Nvidia-based hardware is on the way, so there may be some good news for PC gamers on the horizon. Whether or not it will succumb to immediate shortages through being sold out quickly or whether it will kick-start the PC market again remains to be seen. Either that or Nvidia will start bringing back older hardware to plug the hole for now.
