By most accounts, Mortal Kombat 1 had a pretty great roster to begin with. With 22 playable fighters in total, Mortal Kombat 1's base roster lived up to the rest of NetherRealm's recent entries, and the game's mix of classic series staples and lesser-known 3D-era fighters helped to really make it stand out when compared to Mortal Kombat X and 11. With a slew of new Kameo Fighters joining the battle, Mortal Kombat 1's roster gave players plenty of room to experiment. But while Mortal Kombat 1's roster was already good from the get-go, it's only going to get better with age.
