Debuting all the way back in 2004, the Monster Hunter franchise has enjoyed a pretty successful stint so far, gradually becoming more of a major franchise in the West with each new entry. From the PS2 to the 3DS to the PS4, Xbox One, and now even the Nintendo Switch, Monster Hunter has really gotten around over the last few decades, and naturally, when other games about fighting giant creatures come around, they're usually compared directly to Monster Hunter. That's been exactly the case for the Horizon series.
