After three decades in the industry, it seems fair to say that the Civilization series is one of the most beloved strategy franchises in all of gaming. Predominantly a PC series for most of its life, Civilization has found a whole new wave of success thanks to Civilization 6's console ports, and moving forward, it seems likely that Firaxis will want to continue to make sure that it's catering to all markets, which could lead to a lengthier development period for Civilization 7.
