Overwatch 2, like any live service game, uses limited time events as a way to attract players to the free-to-play title. The hero shooter has attempted to keep long-running events like Halloween Terror fresh via some genuinely great content like Trials of Sanctuary and Wrath of the Bride, while Winston’s Volleyball shook up Summer Games 2023. With the first Overwatch 2 event pass introduced as part of Winter Wonderland, it is clear that Blizzard has several ideas for how to shake up this form of content, and it could do the same next year during one specific period of time.
