After the Halo franchise's rocky number of years, fans have been left wanting something to restore the series to its roots, and a remake may do that.

It's no secret that Halo has been in a pretty divisive spot for a long time. Ever since 343 Industries took the helm of the franchise back in March 2012, the Halo games have had their ups and downs. Halo 4 was fairly well received, but its follow-up, Halo 5, was an overall letdown for fans of the series. The latest entry in the series, Halo Infinite, has had an even more turbulent story. Each of the recent Halo games has been plagued with some degree of challenge, whether it be delays, cut content, over-monetization, creative disagreements, changes in leadership, technological limitations, failed business strategy - the list could go on. Perhaps the strongest release in 343's lineup is the Master Chief Collection, the all-in-one Halo bundle featuring every title from Combat Evolved to Reach.
