Pokemon Scarlet and Violet may not have had the best reception upon launch, but Gen 9 was arguably the most ground-breaking entry in the series so far, drastically changing many aspects of it and introducing new features and compelling new Pokemon as well. From a focus on difficult double battles in The Indigo Disk to the many traditions broken by Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players got a fair share of surprises while tackling Gen 9's content, including a more accessible approach to VGC competitive tournaments. All this alone leaves a high bar for Gen 10 to clear, but more importantly, it means that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Indigo Disk cut content may find its way into the next installment of the series.
