2023 was a great year for video games, with many of its highly anticipated games becoming huge successes. However, while most of last year's anticipated releases were expected to make waves in the gaming industry, none were as big a surprise as Dead Island 2. Deep Silver Dambuster Studios' sequel to the hit zombie survival game from 2011 quickly became one of the best in the genre, despite some all-too-familiar mechanics and a lack of replay value that has left many players wanting.
