While it only ran for 26 episodes, the series is remembered for its beloved characters, its neo-noir space Western vibe, and its acclaimed storytelling. Its success has spawned other forms of media, such as two manga adaptations and a live-action remake series, the latter of which premiered on Netflix in 2021.
