Why on Earth would anyone willingly go out of their way to consume content that scares the living daylights out of them? Why, for the thrill, of course. The horror genre exists purely to feed human curiosity about the supernatural and the unknown, all from the comfort of their homes and screens. After all, no one in real life would want to be chased and haunted by demons in their newly bought house, simply because the previous owners failed to mention the little poltergeist/ghost problem they had.
