Resident Evil has made a career from scaring players witless for decades with its survival horror experiences that put them through the wringer. Eerie atmospheres, claustrophobic environments, and flesh-eating zombies all play an integral part. Even controlling a gun-toting hero does little to alleviate the tension as players white-knuckle their controllers at whatever may lurk ahead.
