Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League's premise ended under scrutiny on release, but Rocksteady may be subverting expectations with seasonal stories.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League didn't launch to raving reviews and is largely considered a mediocre game, although its gameplay loop does seem to have a lot of potential if refined properly with the title's live-service approach like other games before it have done. However, it is precisely those live-service elements that have given the game its bad reputation, possibly because there is a sense of fatigue for games that demand a lot of players' attention and time, and the fact that Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League holds true to its premise didn't help. In fact, a major point of contention among players was that Task Force X does actually kill the Justice League, including Batman from the Arkham series, but the game's seasonal content may revert this.
