In Resident Evil Village, there is one part of the arsenal that players are not going to want to skip, and that is Moreau's Hidden Weapon, the Magnum.

Resident Evil Village leaves quite a few unique items off the beaten path for players to track down. Not every valuable treasure is dropped at their feet after a boss fight, so figuring out how to get to some of the key pieces of loot marked on the map can be a challenge. As players dive deeper into Resident Evil Village's lore, Moreau's section offers a few more details filling in the plot, but also includes an essential piece of loot, something Moreau calls his "Hidden Weapon."

Some of the unique items found in Resident Evil Village have a tight window for when you can collect them. Players have a limited amount of time to open up Beneviento's Treasure, and while Moreau's Hidden Weapon is more flexible with regard to when players can pick it up, they will want to add it to their arsenal right away, because Moreau's Hidden Weapon is the M1851 Wolfsbane Magnum.

Eagle-eyed players will no doubt spot an iron gate to the east of the first windmill in the reservoir area of the village. However, a crank is needed to open up the gate, and players don't have one at this point in the game. It's not something players can buy from The Duke, so they will have to find one.

Thankfully, during Moreau's section of the game, players find a crank as they frantically work to generate some electricity in order to open a sluice gate. The crank is a can't miss item essential to this segment of the game, so players shouldn't worry about skipping it and being unable to gain access to Moreau's Hidden Weapon. Some kind of crank or valve handle has long been a staple of Resident Evil games, and Village has a few nods to past Resident Evil titles in it.

After acquiring the crank, finishing up Moreau's segment, and doing away with the third Lord of the game, players will get their chance to snag the powerful Magnum. After riding the elevator back up from the reservoir, players can now open the iron gate just east of the first windmill by using the newly acquired crank.

Through the gate and up a narrow path, players will come across a few cabins. If Moreau's section of the game left players light on supplies, they may want to trek back to the village hub and restock. Players should be careful not to sell some key items to The Duke, but should definitely load up on more ammo, and be ready to engage a few baddies to claim Moreau's Hidden Weapon.

The furthest cabin in the area can only be accessed via a hole in the back wall, and once inside, players will have to dispatch a lonely enemy before being able to safely pick up the Magnum. Once in their possession, players may be tempted to immediately make use of the powerful gun, as a werewolf will begin prowling around. The werewolf is definitely one of the scarier enemies in Resident Evil Village, as its quick movement and durability make for a tough fight.

With the M1851 Wolfbane in hand, players are now ready to take on more powerful foes found in the later stages of the game. Moreau's Hidden Weapon definitely packs a punch, and shouldn't be skipped.

Resident Evil Village is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
