Sci-fi is very popular among shooters. Even early entries in the genre, like Doom and Perfect Dark, are part of a broader definition of science fiction. Pretty much any story with guns that doesn't take place on Earth is, by definition, science fiction. Yet, not every shooter feels like it should be part of the sci-fi FPS canon.
