Gamefreak has been the lead development team for the Pokemon franchise ever since the first games in the series were released in 1996. This team has overseen every Pokemon game that has been released since, which includes all the main series games and spin-off titles. Every one of these new games has added something new to the franchise, but the Pokemon Legends Arceus game was by far the most ambitious thing the developers had worked on so far in the Pokemon world.
