When the first few Resident Evil games are compared to the likes of Resident Evil Village or the Resident Evil 4 remake, the difference is night and day. Indeed, the franchise has undergone a number of evolutions, from fixed-camera survival horror and all-out action to first-person psychological horror, and with the franchise showing no signs of slowing down, it's easy to imagine even more dramatically different Resident Evil permutations in the future.
