One of the primary mechanics in Rise of the Ronin shows that Team Ninja's open-world Soulslite course-corrects an area of weakness from Sekiro.

Team Ninja's Rise of the Ronin wears its influences loud and clear. From the combat styles, stance-switching, and weapon selection of games like Nioh to the open-world exploration and world-building of Ghost of Tsushima, Rise of the Ronin carefully straddles the line between a more focused traditional open-world action game and a Team Ninja Soulslike. Another of Rise of the Ronin's more obvious inspirations is that of FromSoftware's Sekiro, especially where the parry-heavy sword combat and focus on deflecting enemy attacks are concerned. However, Rise of the Ronin actually outdoes one of its primary inspirations in one key area: stealth.
