The Stranger's Rifle returns in Destiny 2 as Elsie's Rifle, one of the 12 guns in the BRAVE arsenal of weapons added in the Into The Light update. It's easily one of the best Legendary Aggressive Pulse Rifle's in the game currently due to its impressive base stats and solid perk pool, rivaling even the current iteration of the Messenger from Trials of Osiris.
