For fans of Nier Replicant that want to play more games like it, these titles should scratch that gaming itch.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... has been out for a few weeks now and many RPG fans have enjoyed re-experiencing the game that originally released over a decade ago or playing it for the first time. But now that many of them have beaten it, including the brand new Ending E that wrapped the game up well and connected it to NieR: Automata more than it already was, players want something else to try out.

Luckily, there are a lot of other games similar to NieR Replicant that they'll surely enjoy, especially since the publisher, Square Enix, is mostly known for their RPGs. Here are ten of them.

10 Drakengard

Despite how popular the NieR games are, many players don't know that they are a spin-off of a series called Drakengard. The first game in the franchise, also called Drakengard, came to the PS2 and mobile devices in 2004.

For those that want to learn more about how the world of the NieR titles came to be, this is the best place to begin, with many fans hoping that this installment, as well as the other Drakengard games, receives the same treatment as NieR Replicant.

9 Final Fantasy XV

A newer Square Enix game that shares similarities to NieR Replicant is the newest main installment of the Final Fantasy franchise. It originally came out on the Xbox One and PS4 in 2016, with ports on PC and Stadia coming out since, with another version called Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition being available on mobile devices and the Switch, as well as PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Outside of the game, there is also a movie and an anime that gives fans more to experience.

8 Final Fantasy VII Remake

For those that thought the new version of NieR Replicant was better than the original, they'll probably enjoy another classic Square Enix game that was given a remake. Final Fantasy VII Remake released last year on the PS4, and will come to the PS5 next month with some new content.

Though this title only covers a portion of the original game, with sequels expected to come in the future, it's one of the best in the entire franchise.

7 Devil May Cry

One of the most interesting places to go to in NieR Replicant is the mansion where players first met Emil. It's clear that the mansion takes a lot of inspiration from Capcom's Devil May Cry so those that enjoyed that part of the game will certainly enjoy this series. The first installment is available on the PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Switch, and PC and originally released in 2001.

6 Kingdom Hearts II

Another popular Square Enix franchise is Kingdom Hearts, with Kingdom Hearts II having the most in common with NieR Replicant in terms of gameplay. It first came to the PS2 in 2006, and would eventually come to the PS3, PS4, and Xbox One along with other installments in the franchise.

Nearly every title also came to PC earlier this year, with Kingdom Hearts II being one of them. Though newcomers may be somewhat confused if they begin the series with this game, it's one of the best for RPG fans.

5 Darksiders

THQ Nordic's Darksiders has a lot in common with NieR Replicant in terms of story and gameplay. In 2010, it came to the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, and a remaster, known as Darksiders Warmastered Edition, released for the Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, and Switch. There are also two sequels and a spin-off to the game, all of which are also available on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

4 Trials Of Mana

Though it was only available in Japan until recently, Trials of Mana was one of the best RPGs on SNES. A year after it finally became available to other places around the world, a remake released for the Switch, PS4, and PC.

These new releases of the 1995 title have been received well and there are a whole new fanbase has been formed. The 2020 remake is what fans of NieR Replicant would most likely prefer, though fans of retro games would probably enjoy the original as well.

3 Bayonetta

Developed by PlatinumGames and published by both Sega and Nintendo, Bayonetta is a hack and slash title that released in 2010 on the Xbox 360 and PS3. It would eventually also come to the Wii U, PC, Switch, Xbox One, and PS4.

Like Emil's mansion, parts of this game were also inspired by Devil May Cry. The game also has a sequel, exclusively available on the Nintendo consoles that the original released on. A third game is in development and will be a Switch exclusive, so this is a great hack and slash series for Nintendo fans especially to try out.

2 Astral Chain

Another Nintendo exclusive that was developed by PlatinumGames is Astral Chain. It came out on the Switch in 2019. Besides the gameplay, what makes this title similar to NieR Replicant is that sibling relationships are very important.

Nier and Yonah, Popola and Devola, and Jakob and Gideon are all characters that show how important the bond between siblings is, and the two main protagonists in Astral Chain are twins, so those that enjoyed the interactions in NieR Replicant will probably like the characters in this game more than others in the genre.

1 NieR: Automata

For those that have never played it, NieR: Automata is the sequel to NieR Replicant. Before it released in 2017 for the PS4 and PC, and a year later on the Xbox One, the Drakengard franchise didn't have many fans, but this installment gave it and NieR the popularity it deserves.

Like Astral Chain and Bayonetta, this game was also developed by PlatinumGames rather than NieR Replicant's developers, Toylogic. Many fans considered this to be the best game in the series upon release and NieR Replicant probably wouldn't have received the upgrade players now enjoy if it weren't for this installment's popularity.
