Xbox Games With Gold may be less exciting than Xbox Game Pass to some, but that doesn't mean it's going to stop delivering new games to subscribers on a routine basis. Earlier this month, Xbox dropped the first half of May's Games With Gold titles, making both Armello and LEGO Batman: The Video Game available. Now the second half of May's Xbox Games With Gold releases, Dungeons 3 and Tropico 4, are available a day earlier than scheduled.
Dungeons 3, a dungeon manager game, allows players to build the evil lair of their dreams. Dungeons 3 features a 20-hour single-player campaign, a co-op mode for two friends, randomly-generated levels, and even an overworld real-time strategy mode. Dungeons 3's availability extends from May 15 through June 15, and it can be played on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Tropico 4 is a returning Xbox 360 game in this month's Xbox Games With Gold, available to play on modern platforms via backward compatibility. It may not be one of the most recent Tropicos, with both Tropico 5 and Tropico 6 having launched since, but Tropico 4 is one of the more popular and successful iterations of the dictatorship sim. Even now it's likely one of the best examples of the genre on console, and Tropico 4 will be available from today until May 31.
The two Games With Gold for May that have already been released are the RPG board game Armello and LEGO Batman: The Video Game. Armello remains available to download and play through May 31. LEGO Batman's availability ends today, so Xbox Gold subscribers should pick up the game now if they have not yet. Time is running out fast, but that's one benefit of Games With Gold titles releasing a day early.
There's an argument to be made that it's time for Xbox to phase out Xbox Games With Gold. Xbox Game Pass is increasingly popular and successful by comparison, and it's having arguably better games added each month compared to what's being released in the Games With Gold library. Unfortunately, Microsoft seemingly doesn't know how to transfer away from Gold subscriptions, or perhaps it doesn't want to. As such, the Games With Gold program continues.
Subscribers can perhaps expect more news on the future Xbox Games With Gold at E3. Otherwise, there will be a new group of two Xbox One-or-later releases and two Xbox 360 releases to be announced for Games With Gold for the month of June announced sometime soon.
