Elite Dangerous is primarily a space combat, exploration, and trading game. However, the Odyssey DLC added further gameplay loops to the game in the form of ground-based activities and missions. Players can complete a range of missions, from simple deliveries to the assassination of faction targets. Ground wars were added, and players can take part in large-scale planet-based battles in conflict zones.
