Weta Workshop and Private Division's cozy life sim Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game already has plenty going for it, considering its Lord of the Rings setting and similarities to games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. In fact, Tales of the Shire looks so much like Animal Crossing that some players have jokingly referred to it as "Shire Crossing." That may not be a bad thing, as Nintendo's Animal Crossing series has proven to be a huge hit among cozy fans, especially after the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons in 2020.
