There are a variety of different events that occur in Pokemon GO, many of them coming and passing rather consistently as new items and mechanics are introduced into the game. Many new Pokemon are even added through the use of events, creating special Raid opportunities, wild encounters, Field Research, or even Timed Research encounters.
