Last October, Alan Wake 2 was released and marked developer Remedy Entertainment's next foray into the world of the tormented writer's travels through the Dark Place dimension and battle of wits against the Lovecraftian entity known as the Dark Presence residing within. After nearly a decade-long wait for the sequel, Alan Wake 2 was met with mostly positive critical and fan reactions, praised in large part for its use of both survival horror design elements and the studio's trademark blend of live-action elements within the setting and gameplay.
