Outriders, the upcoming looter-shooter RPG from People Can Fly, is only two months away from release. There are four classes in the game for players to choose from, each with its own playstyle and strengths depending on the player and their choices. Last week has been Armor Week on the Outriders' Twitter, showing off four of the game's Legendary sets.
No RPG character is complete without some shiny armor, preferably stocked full of overpowered skill mods. Fortunately, the four that People Can Fly has teased are exactly that. Each Legendary Armor set has four parts, each with two mods that boost Outriders' class skills.

The Legendary Armor revealed for Outriders' Pyromancer class is called The Reforged, and sports a distinctly lava-like appearance, with glowing veins and swirling rock. Each of the four parts comes with a pair of powerful Mods, granting bonuses to the Pyromancer's special abilities:
Cowl of the Reforged
- Double Fun: Allows Thermal Bomb to affect two targets.
- Big Boom: Increases the explosion radius of Thermal Bomb by 20%
Armor of the Reforged
- Branded: Enemies affected by Thermal Bomb receive 40% more damage.
- Bullet Absorption: Replenishes 20% of ammo in the active magazine for each enemy affected by Feed the Flames.
Waistcloth of the Reforged:
- Flame Grasper: Enables Feed the Flames to absorb two additional targets.
- Wildfire: Inflicts Burn on every enemy damaged by Thermal Bomb.
Boots of the Reforged
- Power Assimilation: Boost Anomaly Power by 192 for each Elite on the battlefield.
- Nova: Increase the range of Feed the Flames by 100%.
The set bonus for The Reforged armor doubles down on the effects of these mods, granting a 50% damage boost to both Feed the Flames and Thermal Bomb. These skills are at the core of the Pyromancer's gameplay in Outriders, making this a massive boost.
Following the tanky-trend of Outriders' Devastator class, the Deathproof Legendary Armor set is all about toughing it out. As well as giving plenty of extra armor points, each part of the Deathproof set comes with some interesting mods.
Deathproof Mask
- Primal Weakness: Permanently reduces Resistance of all enemies damaged by Boulderdash by 50%
- Primal Chaingun: Each enemy damaged by Boulderdash increases Weapon Damage by 20% for 5 seconds. This effect stacks up to 5 times.
Deathproof Chest Armor
- Increase Duration: Increases the duration of Reflect Bullets by 40%.
- Primal Armor: Doubles Armor for 10 seconds after Boulderdash ends.
Deathproof Leg Armor
- Not Impressed: Reduces the damage taken from Elites by 20%.
- Auto Reflect: Allows the Devastator to keep fighting while Reflect Bullets is active, but the skill cannot be manually deactivated. Reflect Bullets only negates 50% of incoming damage.
Deathproof Footgear
- Life of the Party: Incoming damage is reduced by 5%for each enemy in close range. This effect stacks up to 8 times.
- Primal Constitution: Each enemy damaged by Boulderdash increases Maximum Health by 307 for 10 seconds. This effect stacks up to 5 times.
The Deathproof set bonus is all about the Devastator's Boulderdash ability, granting a whopping 90% cooldown reduction. Needless to say, this buff puts Boulderdash even more firmly at the core of the Devastator's playstyle in Outriders when specc'd in this regard.

The Legendary Armor for the devious Trickster class in Outriders is called the Chronosuit, and has a focus on teleportation and time-manipulation. The Trickster is a swift and deadly glass-cannon, again depending on how players build the character, and the mods on the Chronosuit double down on those traits.
Chronosuit Mask
- Aggressive Teleportation: Reverting time with Borrowed Time creates an explosion around the Trickster, inflicting 345 damage to all enemies within 8 meters.
- Strong Twist: With the Twisted Rounds skill is active, increase Firepower by an additional 15%.
Upper Chronosuit
- Death Shell: Killing enemies while Borrowed Time is active reduces incoming Weapon and Anomaly damage by 10% for 10 seconds. This effect stacks up to 4 times, and is removed when the skill ends.
- Additional Mag: The Twisted Rounds skill remains effective for 2 magazines before triggering the cooldown.
Lower Chronosuit
- Ammo Bargain: While Twisted Rounds is active, killing shots replenish 20% of ammo in the magazine.
- Armor of Eons: Activating Borrowed Time increases armor by 100% for 10 seconds.
Chronosuit Footgear
- Shield of the Fallen: When Twisted Rounds ends, add 15% of Maximum Health as Shield for each enemy killed by the skill.
- Diffuse: Sprinting increases Armor by 3743 and Resistance by 50%.
The Chronosuit's set bonus is all about making sure that Outriders' Trickster is the DPS class that players are looking for. It fully replenishes the ammunition in the Trickster's weapon when they revert time with the Borrowed Time skill.
The oddly-named Torrential Downpour is the Legendary Armor for the Technomancer class in Outriders. The Technomancer is the support specialist of the group, and the mods in Torrential Downpour are all about improving control and healing.
Torrential Downpour's Goggles
- Breath In: Reduces the cooldown of Fixing Wave by 20%
- More Traps: Scrapnel allows an additional mine to be thrown before triggering the cooldown.
Torrential Downpour's Armor
- Trap Cluster: Doubles the numbers of mines that can be thrown before triggering the cooldown on Scrapnel.
- Cleansing Wind: Activating Fixing Wind removes negative statuses from allies and grants them 5 seconds of immunity from negative statuses.
Torrential Downpour's Leg Armor
- Head of the Ward: Reviving an ally also fully restores their Health.
- More Damage: Increases Scrapnel's damage by 20%.
Torrential Downpour's Footgear
- Quartermaster: Activating Fixing Wave replenished one magazine for each ally. Cooldown of 45 seconds.
- Supplies: Scrapnel allows an additional mine to be thrown before triggering the cooldown.
Astute players may have noticed a theme regarding the Scrapnel skill in Torrential Downpour's mods, as many of the other mods increased the amount of mines thrown by the Technomancer's skill in Outriders. Well, not content with adding a ton of extra mines, the set bonus of Torrential Downpour creates additional cluster bombs after the mines explode.
From everything that People Can Fly has released so far, it looks like there'll be three sets of Legendary Armor for each class in Outriders at launch. Of course, that remains to be seen, but it's not much more of a wait until then.
Outriders launches April 1 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, with a Stadia version also in development.
