Even without the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie, these two anti-heroes have had their fates intertwine frequently in the comics. If Wolverine hadnt become Weapon X, the Canadian government wouldnt have tried to recreate his healing factor with the experiments that made Deadpool the mutated maniac he is today. Hes essentially the Wario to Wolverines Mario, the Bizarro to Wolverines Superman, etc.
