The first Red Dead Redemption was a huge game, at least by 2010 standards. While the open-world genre (in its modern and most recognizable form) had been around for almost a decade at that point, Red Dead Redemption still pushed the boundaries of what gamers thought possible from the genre, delivering a lengthy 30-hour story set against the backdrop of a vast Wild West-themed open-world. But eight years later, Red Dead Redemption 2 would blow expectations out of the water.
