The Vault of Glass raid has returned to Destiny 2 and Atheon may not have updated its security, allowing for some nostalgic Destiny 1 moments.

Destiny 2 Guardians have been cheesing or otherwise exploiting raid bosses since the early days of Vault of Glass in 2014. Recently, Guardians have glitched the Deep Stone Crypt Raid in more ways than one. Now, on the night before the Vault of Glass raid returns to Destiny 2, Bungie has let Guardians know that a new exploit has been found that allows Guardians to push enemies off of cliffs. It is as if Atheon’s Time Conflux has brought back one of the original Destiny Raid cheeses.

While Bungie has mentioned that the use of this exploit will disqualify a Fireteam from the World’s First Race, some Fireteams are surely going to reenact the old ritual of pushing Atheon off of the ledge. While this will surely be patched by Bungie at some point, Guardians may want to do it for the memes.

Content Creator, JB3, originally posted the glitch on their YouTube channel, showing off how it works in Destiny 2 on enemies on the Moon. It was then later covered by another Content Creator, Scrub. Guardians can only do this on a Stasis Warlock and the process will take a bit of preparation.

Destiny 2 Stasis Warlocks need to use their Super and jump off of a ledge, burst gliding to their death, this will need to be done 5 times. Once a Warlock has done this 5 times, they then will jump into an enemy using their boost-glide to send the enemy flying across the map, like a not-so-friendly chest bump.

It appears that every time a Guardian dies while burst gliding in their Super like this; they store up energy to be used later. This works in PvE and the Crucible, but with the requirement of 5 Supers worth of energy, it is safe to say it will not be a problem in the Destiny 2 Crucible. In PVE, this can cheese various encounters including Morgeth in the Destiny 2 Last Wish Raid.

Content Creator, Scrub, showed how this glitch can be used against raid bosses such as Morgeth. While Morgeth does not fly across the map in the same hilarity as low-level enemies, it can still be pushed off of the edge to cheese the encounter. Players have discovered that this glitch can even impact Taniks, however, seeing how he flies around already, he directly counters this glitch.

There are multiple ways that a Guardian could cancel out this glitch, as JB3 detailed in his video description. Actions such as opening the Director Menu, Character Menu, or leaving and entering a new zone will cancel this glitch. Guardians will also cancel this glitch if another Guardian leaves or enters the Fireteam, or if the Fireteam wipes and everyone dies. It will certainly be an entertaining to see Atheon fall to similar glitch tactics as it did in the original Vault of Glass in Destiny. At this time, Bungie has not stated when it will help Atheon, patching this glitch.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
