Fallout 76 follows the player character as they emerge from Vault 76 and begin to build their life in Appalachia. It takes place in 2102, just 25 years after the events that caused the entire franchise to begin. Just like the rest of the United States, Appalachia has seen some horrible times since the Great War and the fallout, and the Vault Dweller must learn to survive in this new reality.
