Pokemon GO Spelunker's Cove event offers Field Research and an event-exclusive Timed Research quest. Completing these Research quests offers numerous in-game rewards and Pokemon encounters. Shiny Crabrawler also debuts during the event, and you can encounter one as a Research task reward.
